Redesigning Wavedance Taiwan's Website
Wavedance Taiwan, a local surf shop situated in Yilan, Taiwan, faced challenges with their outdated WordPress website. The site suffered from a disorganized layout, caused by conflicting plugins, leading to poor user experience and frustration for visitors.
To address these issues, I spearheaded the development of a comprehensive design system, encompassing typography, color palette, UI elements, and responsiveness. This systematic approach aimed to unify the visual identity and enhance user experience across all devices.
Rebuild Site Structure
I began by restructuring the site, categorizing course and accommodation sections to streamline navigation. This revamped structure formed the foundation for the new site menu, improving accessibility for visitors.
Visual Aides
Incorporating multimedia elements such as videos, illustrations, and icons played a pivotal role in conveying concepts and enhancing engagement. For instance, custom illustrations on the homepage visually represented surfers’ skill levels, aiding visitors in selecting suitable courses. Additionally, icons on subpages succinctly communicated the services offered within each course.
By implementing a cohesive design system and enhancing site structure and visual elements, we transformed Wavedance Taiwan’s website into a user-friendly platform that effectively communicates its offerings and fosters an engaging surfing experience.
