Surfing into Identity: The Logo Journey of Wavedance
In the quest to define the visual identity of Wavedance, we embarked on an exploration of various logo styles and possibilities. To explore the spirit of the brand, we splitted our journey to two primary directions: a logotype approach, emphasizing the company name, and a logomark option, where the name could take a supporting role.
As our journey progressed, we delved deeper into refining our ideas, eventually honing in on the concept of heart-shaped designs. These designs, showcased in the final section of the grid gallery below, encapsulate the spirit and passion of Wavedance, symbolizing its love for the ocean and the surfing lifestyle.
Logo Design Finalization and Color Palette Creation
The final logo version is displayed in the carousel below. Here’s the essence of the logo:
The design features five shortboards arranged into a heart-and-flowerbud-shape, symbolizing the three elements of Wavedance’s Mandarin business name — wave, flower, and dance (浪花舞). This shape reflects a youthful and vibrant organizational culture, perfect for a surf shop.
The bold strokes of the logo project an energetic image, reinforcing Wavedance’s identity as a fun and sporty surf brand.

We crafted Wavedance’s color palette from the heart-shaped logo, featuring warm salmon orange as the primary brand color. Hippie blue complements as the secondary color, adding a vibrant contrast. Additionally, we introduced two tertiary colors — watermelon red and marigold yellow — to enhance the palette and evoke the brand’s lively spirit.
Web Design on Homepage
On the homepage jumbotron, we integrate a captivating video clip to showcase the essence of our flagship offering: Wavedance Surf Camps. This dynamic visual provides visitors with a glimpse into the unique experience of our surf camps, accompanied by a prominent call-to-action button inviting them to book their adventure.
Summery of the Surf Spots & Camps
Next, we provide a summary of the surf spots featured at each camp, detailing location, wave conditions, camp levels, and more. This comprehensive overview helps prospective attendees determine which camp aligns best with their preferences and skill level.

Here, we apply the primary salmon color from our brand palette, established during the branding process. The secondary hippie blue color serves as a highlight throughout this section. In the following section, we reverse the use of these two colors to ensure clear background separation, as demonstrated below.
